App Detection for Mobile Browsers

Last Updated: May 01, 2012 06:49AM PDT
Mobile Roadie provides web code that enables your website to automatically detect when a user is visiting your site with a mobile browser and give them the option of downloading your app. Users will only be prompted once per device to download the app to avoid spamming them every time they visit your site.

To enable mobile browser detection on your site, perform the following steps:

1. Log in to the CMS. Click the "Dashboard" tab, followed by the "Promotional Tools" tab that appears after the Dashboard tab loads:

2. Scroll down to the "App Detection for Mobile Browsers" section at the bottom. Note the snip of code that we've generated for you:

3. Add this line somewhere in the body of your existing web page (if you're not sure how to do this, your IT staff can help you). Whenever someone visits that page from an iOS device, they will be asked if they wish to be redirected to the iTunes store. If they are visiting from an Android device, they will instead be offered the choice of connecting to the Android Marketplace. In either case, the user will be taken directly to the app's page and will not have to navigate further.

Below are screenshots of a representative user experience on both iOS and Android devices:
