Overview
Mobile Roadie Apps are usually submitted to the App Stores as brand new apps. In situations where there is an existing app on one or both of the app stores, Mobile Roadie can submit your Mobile Roadie App as an update on top of the existing app. This allows users with the existing non-Mobile Roadie app to simply update the app already downloaded on their devices to receive the new Mobile Roadie version instead of downloading a brand new app from the app stores.
If you have cancelled your Mobile Roadie Account and are wanting to upload a non-Mobile Roadie app over your previous Mobile Roadie Android app to retain users, downloads, ratings, etc.. click here
Requesting Your App be submitted on top of an existing App
Requests can be sent to support@mobileroadie.com or included in the App Submission Notes in Step #3 of the submission process under 'Anything else you'd like to tell us?
Submitting your Mobile Roadie App over an existing App
Android
When your app is submitted to be processed and built to the app stores, Mobile Roadie will build and send you the unsigned apk file. This unsigned apk file will need to be signed by you with the keystore used when the app was originally published to your Android Developer Account
Due to the advanced nature of the Android apk signing process Mobile Roadie is unable to assist in walking those through who are not already familiar with this process. Additional information on what signing is and how to sign an Android apk can be found here!
NOTE If you do not have access to this keystore or cannot sign your apk for any reason, Mobile Roadie is not able to submit your Mobile Roadie app on top of the existing app. In the event that you do not have the original keystore, Mobile Roadie will sign your app's apk, and submit the app to your Android Developer Account as a brand new app.
Once signed, this apk may be uploaded into your Android Developer Account or emailed to support@mobileroadie.com and we will upload it to the Play Store for you!
iOS
To resubmit your Mobile Roadie App on an existing iOS app, please ensure that you have entered the correct iOS Developer Credentials in the CMS under Manage>App Vitals. Valid iOS Developer Credentials should allow access to both websites listed below.
If the credentials listed in the CMS do not allow access to either or both of these web sites, your iOS app will not be resubmitted on top of the existing app.
Submitting Non-Mobile Roadie App over an existing Mobile Roadie Android app
The Play Store requires updates to Android apps be signed using the same certificate/fingerprint which was originally used to sign the application. Due to the way in which Android app apk files are signed, Mobile Roadie is unable to provide you with the certificate for an app originally signed by Mobile Roadie.
